Disney Fantasy Pools, Slides, and Sports Activities (Decks 11-13)

,

The Disney Fantasy pools, slides, and sports activities on decks 11-13 were very popular places to be for our family. We didn’t spend a lot of time in our stateroom, as it was much more relaxing and fun to sit in the hot tub; play a round of mini golf; or chill out poolside in a lounge chair.

Some nights we’d get changed after the evening shows and head up to Deck 11 at 9:00 pm for an hour or so. The kids had an absolute blast on this part of the ship!

This area was not crowded at night and everything was within reach. For example, we could sit in front of the Funnel Vision movie and the kids could run back and forth between water slides, ping pong, mini golf, hot tubs, the soda fountains, soft serve ice cream (Eye Scream!), and all of this is a wide open layout that was easy to keep track of them. The snack bars and grill were also open late in the evening, for the hollow-leg adolescents that can eat forever without getting full?!

Here are the highlights of the Disney Fantasy pools and slides and what you’ll find on the adjacent sports deck:

Mickey & Donald Pools (Deck 11 – Midship)

In the Disney Fantasy Pool area, Mickey’s Pool is the perfect spot for thelittle cruisers! The pool is only 2 feet deep and there’s lots of room for them to splash and play and meet friends.

The Donald Pool has a maximum depth of 5 feet and is fun for the bigger kids to jump and play in. Again, there seemed to be plenty of room for everyone, even on the more crowded at sea days. Note: Both the Mickey & Donald pools were covered during the Sail Away and Pirate Night parties, giving this deck more space. The covers were mechanical and were able to quickly retract after the events so that everyone could enjoy the pools again.

The hot tubs on Deck 11 were on the sides of the ship with thick clear plexiglass floors and walls that allowed you to stare off into the vast ocean – great place to relax!

Mickey Slide & AquaDuck (Deck 11/12 – Midship)

The Mickey Slide was very popular with our 5 and 11 year-old boys. It was only open for children between 38” and 64” tall and there were lots of giggles, as they twisted down the slide and tube to a splash landing at the bottom.

The AquaDuck was the marquee ride on the Disney Fantasy Pool deck. Open to everyone 42” and taller, this 765-foot water coaster ride is unique and a first for the cruise industry. The 2-man tubes go up and down hills, around the ship, and land you safely in a lazy river ending. You’ll really enjoy this one. The lines are shortest in the evening and if you’re lucky enough to board the ship in the early group (put your bathing suit in your carry-on!).

Nemo’s Reef & AquaLab (Deck 11/12 – Aft)

This area is a lot of fun for the little folks with its dumping buckets of water, squirting pipes and valves, geysers, and over 1,800 square-feet of play area. And of course, the well-orchestrated Disney theme throughout of this being the experimental lab of Huey, Duey, and Louie makes it all the more entertaining!

Nemo’s Reef is another great area for the little ones with a small slide, geysers, and water curtain and more. The area is so well designed and laid out that it’s like you’ve jumped in the Finding Nemo movie. Even our teenagers were intrigued and explored the area…until nicely asked by the Castmembers to leave and let the smaller fish enjoy the space!

Quiet Cove Adult Pool Area (Deck 13 – Forward)

If you get a few minutes of adult time and you’d like to relax away from the excitement, the Quiet Cove area will be a welcomed oasis. The pool area has a bar and lounge chairs and plenty of space to dip your feet in the pool, enjoy a drink, read a book, or just take a nap and save your energy for the next activity!

Mini Golf, Ping Pong, Foosball, Basketball Courts – Deck 13 Aft

Our boys loved this area! On the ship’s fantail, there was a complete mini-golf course, ping pong tables, foosball tables, and even basketball courts between the 12th and 13th decks! For me, this area was most enjoyable at night, as there was no place to get out of the sun during the day, but I think our kids could have spent the whole day here and been happy! The Mini Golf course has two paths for each hole: Max (dotted line showing shortest path) & Goofy (dotted line showing wild path). Like everything Disney, the details are over-the-top creative!
